NLP is about the brain and the way we store things, language and the programmes that we run (behaviours strategies etc). NLP offers the proposition that we can change anything we want about ourselves.
The technology of NLP really boils down to the process of modelling excellence, i.e. taking someone who is excellent at something and synthesising the key elements of what they do, so that the skill or capability can be taught/learnt effectively.
Some of the earliest models that make up what are considered core NLP skills and knowledge, were of brilliant people like
Milton Erickson and Virginia Satir who were using their skills in a therapeutic context to help clients to make changes in their lives.
As a result NLP contains some fabulous models of language use, observation and communication which are the foundation of facilitating change.

There are some great resources on the internet if you want to know more about NLP and
Honest Abe's NLP Emporium FAQ is a good starting point.
Neuro Linguistic Programming
Mike's NLP learning was driven by the desire to improve his communication and interaction with others, as reason and logic weren't always enough. NLP not only delivered a great communication model that is at the core of the way Mike operates, it provided a library of tools and techniques that he uses to facilitate change.
"I have consistently found that the skills and techniques that are taught as NLP help me understand and respect others and their maps of the world, observe the processes, behaviours and strategies they use to get the outcomes they get and give them the tools to change those processes, behaviours and strategies so that they can get a different outcome."
When combined with
TPM and SRT, NLP becomes an even more powerful toolset for change.
